It is not clear whether this "hand stoup" -a small hemispherical vessel with a carved human hand around its underbowl as if it were holding it up- is a cleaned-up or restored original of the Gothic period, or, most likely, a replica of a disappeared one of the same type [NB: several of these 'hand stoups" are scattered through Western Europe]
