Font Notes:
A visit in 1905 by A. Du Boulay Hills, then Rector of East Brigford [www.nottshistory.org.uk/articles/summerexcursion1905/southscarle.htm] [accessed 16 June 2009], noted: "The font has a base and bowl of the 13th century, but its cluster of eight columns has been replaced by a thick shaft." Pevsner & Williamson (1979) write: "The shaft of the font with eight shafts seems E[arly] E[nglish] […] but not much of it is left."
