Described in the Guide to the Architectural Antiquities in the Neighbourhood of Oxford (1846) as a baptismal font "good Perpendicular, octagon cup-shaped, with a quatrefoil panel on each face". Noted in Kelly's Oxford Directory of 1911 [http://www.historicaldirectories.org/hd/d.asp] [accessed 2 July 2007]. The font consists of an octagonal basin decorated with large quatrefoil-in-a-circle windows/panels, and a moulding on the upper rim; octagonal stem and lower base, a thin moulding marking the division; short kneeling stone off one of the sides of the octagonal lower base; round wooden cover.
