[...] Moulded octagonal font was set up in 1688 by Thomas Machell, the rector, whose coat of arms is carved on one side." A font here is noted in Pevsner (1967): "Font. 1688. Plain octagonal bowl with a coat of arms. Shorter baluster stem."
