Font Notes:
Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin of plain vertical sides and a chamfered underbowl, raised on an octagonal pedestal base and a rectangular plinth; the inner basin well is lead lined and has a central drain hole; the basin appears cracked in several places and two metal bands have been wrapped around its upper and lower sides for reinforcement; the bad state of the basin together with its considerable size and the texture of the stone may be an indication of older age, but the plainness of the object makes dating difficult; the base shows an early date; flat and plain wooden cover, modern. The font may be a)composite, b)the font from the old church re-installed in the new 19th-century building, or c)brought from one of the neighbouring churchs.
