There is an entry for this Kilburn [variant spelling] on the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SE5179/kilburn/] [accessed 24 May 2019] but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE5136979676] notes: "originally a chapel under the Priories of Coxwold, then Newburgh and finally Thirkleby; it became a separate parish church in 1868. [...] Church. C12, C13 and C17 with later alterations including restoration of 1818"; no font mentioned. The present baptismal font in use at Kilburn St. Mary's is a modern one, probably Victorian or later; it consists of an octagonal basin with vertical sides decorated with simple mouldings at the upper and lower sides, and raised on an octagonal pedestal base decorated also with plain mouldings, one about 1/3 down the stem, the others at the lower base level; the plinth on which this modern font stands is however old, perhaps as old as the fabric of the old church which goes back to Norman times. [NB: we have no information on the ancient font(s) from this church].
