Glynne's 18 November 1863 visit to this church (in Butler, 2007) notes: "The font has a Perpendicular octagonal bowl." The entry for this parish in the Victoria County History (York North Riding, vol. 2, 1923) notes; "The building dates from about the middle of the 15th century excepting the chancel, which was rebuilt in 1777 [...] The font is a modern panelled one of stone." This font is shown in the interior plan of this church in the VCH entry as being located at the west end, beneath the gallery. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE5329977201] notes: "Church. West Tower and nave with south porch, all of c1430, chancel rebuilt in 1774 by Thomas Atkinson"; it mentions no font in it but does include a "stoup inside south door has segmental-pointed arch".
