Reported in Lewis' Dictionary of 1848: "an ancient font enriched with sculpture". Cox (1912) writes: "The 15th cent, font has octagonal bowl sculptured with symbols of the Passion; part of base apparently belonged to a Norm[an] font." Noted in Pevsner (1970): "Font. C15, with coarsely chip-carved ornamental motifs." The baptismal font consists of an octagonal basin with slightly rounded sides and a round underbowl, the whole surface decorated with different motifs: foliage, shields, etc.; raised on an octagonal pedestal base profusely decorated as well; small octagonal plinth, plain; wooden font cover, flat and plain, modern.
