Font Notes:
A very large object made of granite in the shape of a baptismal font (?), located in one of the cloisters of the Catedral de Santiago; it has a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with deeply set and thick ribs all around that end at the top in a thin roll moulding; the base is a squat pedestal with a drain (?) hole on one side; it is quite possible that the object may have been used as a fountain at some point, but the cut in the stone of the upper basin side is an indication of the presence of hardware from an old font cover.
