On-site notes: rectangular ablutions (?) font originally from the palace of caliph Al-Mansur, but later re-used in the Alcazaba of the Alhambra, according to the museum information [Pila. Periodo Califal - s. X - Palacio de Almanzor - Reutilizada en la Alcazaba de la Alhambra [...]"]. Fernández González (2007) refers to the similarity of some of the animals to those on one of the sides of the 11th-century (?) font from San Isidoro de León. The wide side has zoomachia scenes of lions attacking long-horned gazelles, while the narrow sides have a number of other animals displayed.
