Angel Fierro del Valle informs BSI [e-mail of August 12, 2005] that the baptismal font of the old Ermita de Bustefrades was removed at the beginning of the 20th century from the ruins of the old country chapel to his private garden in nearby Cármenes, where it has stood since. The same source informs that the old chapel belonged to the monastery of San Isidoro de León. The font, consisting of a smallish hemispherical basin decorated with a Latin cross and raised on a round stem and cylindrical lower base, appears to be now used as a garden ornament in the open air.
