Noted in Fuenteseca Alvarez and González Gutiérrez (1998) as a baptismal font now [i.e., 1998] stored in the sacristy of the church, to the left of the door; the base broke in two during the last retoration of the church. Originally, informs the same source, the chalice-shaped font had been located to the left of the west entrance; it is made of limestone, the hemispherical basin decorated with a round moulding at the upper rim and around the middle of the basin; there is a short stem and a base of about the same height, both plain; the wooden font cover is furnished with a metal lock. This source dates the font to the 16th century. [cf. BSI entry for Villanueva de Oscos No. 2 for a holy-water stoup in this church]
