The Padstow parish web site [www.padstowparishchurch.org.uk/padstockchurch.htm] informs that: "To the right of the altar, in the wall, is a holy water stoup with a crude carving of St. Petroc in monk's habit, at the top. This is the earliest representation of him and would probably have been in the porch of the old church and inserted here in the new church for safe keeping." This wall-mounted stoup consists of a polygonal basin with plain vertical sides below which is a decorative pattern of round motifs [foliage?]; only the outer three sides are well-defined, while the rest is embeded in the vall and into a concave backdrop in the shape of an Ogee arch; atop the tip of the arch a framed figure, the frame ending in another Ogee arch.
