Font Notes:
Kelly's Directory of Cornwall for 1856 mentions a Gothic font in this church. Cox (1912) does not mention a font in his entry for Morvah. The present font is a plain octagonal baptismal font of unknown date, although the small size points to either a modern font, or an older one re-cut. Illustrated in Steve Beazley's RootsWeb.Com [www.cornwall.netfirms.com/morvah/index.htm]. The Parish Register notes baptisms since 1650 (e.g.: 14 April 1650: John son of Baldwin Henston) [source: The Morvah Page, http://webs.lanset.com/azella/morvah_page.html]. The original chapel or church is probably dated to at least the 14th century with a dedication to St. Bridget. Not in Pevsner (1970)
