Noted in Cox (1912): "Octagonal font of Pentewan stone". Noted in Pevsner (1970): "Font. Octagonal, with elaborate C14 tracery panels." There is busy tracery on the basin sides, with simpler patterns on the underbowl chamfer, and simpler still on the octagonal stem; the lower base has none but is moulded. The wooden cover is octagonal and flat, with metal decorations; appears modern. Illustrated in A Snap in Time [http://www.caerkief.co.uk/Churches/Lanivet.html] [accessed 17 November 2009]
