Noted in Cox (1912) as a plain chalice-shaped Early English font. Noted in Pevsner (1970): "Font. Plain, cup-shaped; is it C13?". Noted and illustrated in A Snap in Time [http://www.caerkief.co.uk/Churches/Helland.html] [accessed 17 November 2009]: "the font is a plain circular work of granite, set in the south wall". The font consists of a shallow cylindrical basin with an indented underbowl that tapers to a thinnner circular pedestal base; on an octagonal plinth with kneeling extension. The wooden cover is round and flat, with four low ribs converging at a knob finial; date unknown.
