The present font consists of a hemispherical basin decorated at the upper sides with a torus-scotia-torus combination, raised on a dodecagonal (?) base and standing on a two-step plinth. The font appears of a later date, perhaps of the 16th century, the date of the Plateresque cloister, or even of the 17th century, to match the Herrera-style western tower. A digital photograph of the present font in the context of the church interior taken 26 November 2011 by Calospalacios may be seen in Wikimedia [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Monasterio_de_Santa_María_la_Real_de_Irache_(Navarra)_26.JPG] [accessed 18 August 2025]. [NB: no information found for the font of the medieval church].
