Noted in Lysons (1806-1833) as a baptismal font of circular shape ornamented "with tracery of circular arches and foliage". In Glover (1831) probably after Lysons. Described in Bagshaw (1846): "The font, of Roche Abbey stone, is a large circular bowl, with a continuous lotus ornament on the upper part." Kelly's Directory of 1881, too, mentions the lotus font in the church, but also reports "an ancient font, now overgrown with greens" in the churchyard [we have no other information on the latter font].
