Noted in Foyle (2004): "Neo-Norman font, probably by Popes & Bindon, 1864". The modern font of Norman-like style consists of a square basin with scalloped sides, raised on a broad central shaft and a quadrangular lower base; on a two-step plinth. The wooden cover is also modern. [NB: the church was originally that of a Benedictine Priory in 1129; we have no information on its earlier font].
