There is an entry for Martinhoe [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SS6648/martinhoe/] [accessed 9 September 2017], but it mentions neither priest nor church in it. Pevsner (1952) mentions the Victorian font in this church: "Gorgeous stiff-leaf decorated font of 1864." [NB: according to Mark Collins [www.roughwood.net/ChurchAlbum/Devon/Parracombe/StPetrock.htm], a font, probably the original font of this church, "mediaeval, probably Norman, was rescued from the Rectory garden at St. Martin, Martinhoe, and given to St Petrock's" in Perracombe / Parracombe]. The present font at the church of St. Martin, in Martinhoe, is modern, by Putsford of Barnstaple, according to the British Listed Buildings [Listing NGR: SS6680248659].
