Described and illustrated in Almagro García (2003): magnificent baptismal font of the 15th century in Gótico-Mudéjar style, made of limestone; the underbowl is decorated with a pattern of diagonally arranged concave ribs, while the narrow basin side bears a Latin inscription [cf. Inscription area] on the salvific powers of baptism; this same source informs that the font was in Santa María until 1888, when it was moved to the church of San Lorenzo and replaced by a marble font; it was restored to Santa María in 1934; the basin is raised on a short round pedestal with the same ribbed pattern as the basin; on a squat quadrangular lower base. The wooden font cover appears modern, an octagonal pyramid with two of the triangular panels hinged to provide acces to the interior of the basin.
