Baptismal font, probably of the 15th or 16th century, noted and illustrated in Stabb (1908): "There is a good font [...] beneath the tower very similar to that at Witheridge." The font consists of an octagonal basin raised on an octagonal pedestal over an octagonal-to-square lower base; the basin has crenellation on the side of the rim; then comes a band of pointed quatrefoil windows, two per panel; the lower basin side is carved as a surrounding and protruding crown of foliage tips; the underbowl has a graded chamfer with some motifs carved on the lower level; the stem of the base is carved with Ogee tracery and has mouldings at both ends; the upper face of the lower base has eight rosettes, each positioned to correspond to the side of the stem; the lower volume becomes square creating a raised spur at the four angles. Polygonal plinth. [We are grateful to Dr. Roger Peters, of www.wissensdrang.com, for his permission to use the transcription of and images from Stabb (1908)]
