There are four entries for Hemingford [Grey] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/TL2970/hemingford-grey/] [accessed 16 August 2021], none of which mentions a priest or church in it. The Victoria County History (Huntingdon, vol. 2, 1932) notes: "The church is not mentioned in the Domesday Survey (1086), but in the 12th century there was a church [...] The church was restored in 1859 [...] The font is modern". The Cambridgeshire County Council web site [www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk] [ca. 2002] informs of the presence inside this church of "a medieval font amongst other items of note", and, elsewhere in the same site, a reference is made to "a Norman font" in this church. The DIGIATLAS web site www.digiatlas.net] confirms with an illustration "a plain but sturdy octagonal font of about the C13". The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: TL2923970868] notes: "Font from Denton, Cambs installed in 1977." [cf. Index entry for Wigston Parva for a font originally from "Hemingford" (?)]
