Fowler (1874) reports: "On the east side of the north door of the nave are remains of a stoup". Noted also in Sutton (1898): "Inside this door [north door] may be noticed the old holy water stoup." [NB: most of the church fabric is of the Pependicular period, but a few details are left of the Decorated period. Fowler does not indicate to which period these remains belong]. [cf.
