Listed in Cox (1912) as one of a group "of characteristically Cornish design […] Late Norm[an] font has bowl ornamented around rim with treble chevron mouldings, and supported at angles by shafts with human heads as capitals." Noted in Pevsner (1970): "Font. Norman, exactly as at Mawgan-in-Pydar and St Columb Minor (Bodmin type)." Baptismal font of the Cornish type, but probably of a later date than the originals at Bormin, etc., on account of the heraldic motifs [unless the heraldic motifs are a later re-carving]: roughly hemispherical basin supported on a central shaft and on four outer colonnettes the capitals of which are the protruding heads of the upper basin side. The upper sides of the basin are covered in a zigzag pattern; one of the sides appear to have a shield/heraldic motif; the columns have capitals and bases, the latter moulded, on square lower bases with spurs at 90-degree angles.
