Described and illustrated in Stabb (1908): "a late Norman font; the top is square and mounted on an octagonal shaft and base; the dark line across the top is an iron band used to keep the font together." Noted in Pevsner (1952): "Font. A variety of the table-top type." In Betjeman (1958) as a baptismal font of the Norman period.
