Described in Lysons (1806-1822) as of a group of "square Saxon fonts on circular pillars, or pedestals." Oliver (1840-1842) makes a derogatory comment about the furnishings in this church: "The font, the piscina, and indeed the tout ensemble, can hardly be worse". Lewis' Dictionary of 1848 reports a Norman font in this church. [NB: the font is not mentioned in Pevsner (1952)]
