Poveda Navarro (2003: 113ff) reports on the Roman civitas known as El Monastil, near Elda, Alicante province: a possible baptismal tank ["piscina bautismal rupestre"] of pentagonal shape, located towards the S wall of the later building, into which it may have been incorporated; at a later date a quadrangular object appears to have been used as a baptismal or holy-water receptacle.
