No entry found for Long Newnton in the Domesday survey. Noted in Verey & Brooks (1999-2002): "Font. Perp[endicular] but completely reset by Wyatt" [i.e., T.H. Wyatt, of Wyatt & Brandon, Victorain architects specialising in church buildings]. The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: ST9096392454] mentions no font in it. Baptismal font of the Perpendicular style; the font consists of an octagonal basin of vertical sides, each decorated with a quatrefoil window with a rosette inside, the upper rim chamfered, the underbowl with a graded chamfer; octagonal centre ring moulding; plain octagonal pedestal base; moulded lower base, also octagonal. Wooden pyramidal font cover with dove finial, eight-sided, probably 17th or 18th century.
