The baptismal font at Kington St. Michael appears to be of a composite nature, the basin and base being so badly fitted together. The basin is a small hemispherical bowl with a thick moulding all around its middle; it could very well have been originally a holy-water stoup; the base looks makeshift, consisting of a cylindrical column with a roll moulding at its upper end; the lower base is circular, with two steps, the whole raised on a narrow plinth with kneeling stone.
