The Historic Churches Preservation Trust reports that "it is said that the original font is buried in the churchyard" [source: 'Recent Grants' issue of the Grants Cttee. Meeting of 22 June 2004, www.historicchurches.org.uk] [NB: the original fabric of the church is said to be 14th-century; there was a renovation of the church in the late 1860s, after Parker; did the font get buried then?]
