A font in the shape of eight lobes in St-Pierre de Chauvigny is also reported in a Guide (Paris: Hachette, 1884: 164). Curiously the number of lobes on this font is misread (?) in a report of 1 June 1843 visit to the Congrès archéologique de France in Poitiers by M[onsieur] Segrétain: "A Chauvigny M Segrétain a vu un baptistère semblable, à cette différence près qu'au lieu de quatre lobes il en avait six. [NB: does the mention of a second font in his comment refer to the double-font that now [2018] remains in this church?]. Baptismal font perhaps of the 12th or 13th century; the basin has a multi-lobed shape. The font went through several placings and it is now [September 2004] in the museum inside the Collégiale St-Pierre de Chauvigny. The BULLETIN DE LA SOCIETE DE RECHERCHES ARCHEOLOGIQUE, ARTISTIQUES, HISTORIQUES ET SCIENTIFIQUES DU PAYS CHAUVINOIS, N° 17 - Décembre 1978 -TOME II [www.chauvigny-patrimoine.fr/Editions/pdf/Bulletin_S.R.A.C._17.pdf] [accessed 15 June 2019] entry no. 11, notes: "Anciens fonts baptismaux de l'église Saint-Pierre.
