Romanesque baptismal font of the Mosan type: square basin with a rounded underbowl raised on a columnar base and a round-to-square lower base. The upper surface of the round rim around the basin well is decorated in the usual manner: a circular border with leaf (?) motif in the spandrels; the sides of the basin are decorated with 1)palmette with bunches of grapes, 2)two lions engaged in fight, 3)arcade of five round arches four of which have other motifs in them (three bearded male heads and one 6-petal flower inscribed in a circle; the centre one is blank now but may have had a motif removed); 4) [no information available]; the four outer columns of the base have foliated capitals that form part of the underbowl, while the bases are integrated in the lower base in the usual Tournai/Mosan manner, around the thick round moulding; the outer side of these columnar bases have a leaf or spur; the five columns of the base are also in the usual arrangement: a broad central shaft with four outer colonnettes. [Font not listed in Drake]. The baptismal font at Jeantes, also in the Nord department, has a decorative program similar to this one, but the quality of the carving is much poorer. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM02000065]: "Fonts baptismaux avec couvercle en bois. Cuve quadrangulaire supportée par un fût monocylindrique, flanqué de 4 colonnettes. [...] 12e siècle".
