Described in Sutton (1904): "The font is of the Perpendicular period, in rather an unusual position, but from the appearance of the step worked into the westernmost respond of the south arcade, it seems in its original place. The sides of the octagonal bowl are carved with designs and shields, most of the blank alternately; on one of them is carved the instruments of the passion." Noted in Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989): "Font. Octagonal, with pointed quatrefoils and in them flowers and on two shields Instruments of the Passion."
