The entry for this church in British Listed Buildings [https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300013329-church-of-st-donat-st-donats#.XNMOnop7lrQ] [accessed 8 May 2019] notes: "Originally a small C12 church with apsed chancel. The tower was added in the early C14, the Lady Chapel (now Stradling Chapel) in the late C14, the chancel was rebuilt in the C15 and the nave in the C16. The body of the church was restored in 1878 [...] and then altered and with the tower reconstructed in 1907 [...] the porch, which has a medieval stoup [...] Norman font with two rows of small scale pattern and with tall conical wooden cover at base of tower."
