Noted in Sutton (1898): "The font, a very plain octagonal one, rests upon the inverted capiyal of a pillar, which siggests that the church was originally large". Listed in Stocker (1997: 17ff) as one of a group of baptismal fonts in which "a reversed bowl [of earlier date] is suspected, given the present day appearance of the font".
