There are two entries for this Sapperton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/TF0133/sapperton/] [accessed 18 June 2018], one of which mentions a church in it. Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989) write: "Font. Plain and probably C13." The local church guide written by Arthur Rimmington describes the font as "plain Norman". The British Listed Building s database [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-193228-church-of-st-nicholas-braceby-and-sapper] [accessed 27 July 2012] reports: "The font is a C12 round tub on octagonal base."
