Described and illustrated in Blatch (1995: [328], 329) as a font of the 17th century "with a delightful cover representing the old tower" [the old church was demolished in 1878, according to the same source]. The font consists of a moulded octagonal basin , the underbowl decorated with stylised ribbed pattern and large leaves beneath; the base is a baluster-type stem; the whole is raised on an octagonal plinth with kneeling stone. The cover is slightly taller than the font itself, probably around four feet and, as Blatch indicates, it is in the shape of the tower of the old church; it is raised by means of a counterweight apparatus hooked from the ceiling.
