Baptismal font in the parish church of Verdalha where in 1635 Manuel Lobo, founder of the Colonia Sacramento in Uruguay, was baptised. The basin of this font, the top of which is illustrated in Assunção (2003: 17), appears cylindrical and plain except for a moulding at the upper rim. This source (ibid., p. 18) dates the "batisterio" to 1545.
