There are two entries for this Belton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE7806/belton/] [accessed 1 August 2016], neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. The entry for Belton nr. Grantham in Kelly's Tarde Directory for 1900 describes a "font of the 12th century in the Parish Church of All Saints, Belton" [www.northlincs.gov.uk/NorthLincs/Leisure/libraries/localstudies/localhistorypacks/Flixborough.htm]. The web site for the Isle of Axholme, Lincs., mentions "the circular font in the North Aisle at All Saints Church" [source: www.linc2u.co.uk/towns/townshtml/isle-of-axholm...]. The local historian H.M. James, in his 'Belton All Saints: a Short History of Belton Parish Church' (ca. 1960?: 5) writes that "the only feature of Norman work to survive intact is the circular font now standing on an octagonal plinth at the west end of the North Aisle". Noted in Pevsner, Harris and Antram (1989): "Norman, circular, on a later octagonal base." The British Listed Buildings [www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-165074-church-of-all-saints-belton] entry for this church reads: "Plain C13 circular bowl font with short cylindrical shaft and water-holding base on octagonal step." [NB: not to be mistaken with another Norman (?) font at the other Belton, nr Grantham, Parish Church of St. Peter & St. Paul, also in Lincolnshire]
