There is an entry for Aldingham in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SD2871/aldingham/] [accessed 8 April 2019], where it is mentioned with four other places; the entry mentions no cleric or church in it. Whitaker (1823) describes the church here but does not mention a font in it. The entry for this parish in the Victoria County History (Lancaster, vol. 8, 1914) notes: "The history of the church can be traced back to the latter part of the 12th century [...] The earliest part of the building is the south nave arcade, which is of late 12th or early 13th-century date [...] The font is of red sandstone 2 ft. 6 in. in diameter, circular in plan and scalloped all round. The bowl only, which is 14 in. deep, is ancient, probably of 12thcentury date, and stands on a modern shafted stem." According to the Lancashire Churches web site: "A 20-scalloped font bowl is thought to date from the C12 (though the base is modern)", the date ca. 1180 when "Michael le Fleming's son Daniel is recorded as the first rector of Aldingham" [source: www.lancashirechurches.co.uk/aldingham.htm [accessed 12 April 2019]]
