The Gentleman's Magazine (issue of July-Dec, 1860) reports an excursion of the Cambrian Archaeological Association in that same year, and the architectural details of the Cathedral as described by a Mr. Kennedy, of the said Society, who stated that there were five periods present in the Cathedral, and that "the east window and the font are good Third Pointed, or Perpendicular, of the period of Henry VII" [i.e., 1485-1509]. [NB: a plan of this church reproduced in Thurlby (2006) shows the font in the southwest corner of the south aisle, in its own room near the tower]
