Described in Pevsner (1975 c1974: 164): "Font. C14, and of an unusual shape: one concave-sided outline composes base, stem, and bowl without a break. Enterprising tracery patterns." A nineteenth-century illustration of this font is listed in an entry in the William Salt Library, Stafford [www.staffordshire.gov.uk/live/pdf/archives/fis-lei.pdf] under reference SV V.81 a sepia drawing dated 1846, by 'J.B.' [John Buckley] -- 5 in. x 7 in. "'Font in Kinver Church.' showing an octagonal font, shaped as a pedestal and carved with tracery (15th century?)."
