Described in Pevsner (1975 c1974: 163): "Font. 1664. Moulded, and with little decoration." A nineteenth-century illustration of this font is listed in an entry in the William Salt Library, Stafford [www.staffordshire.gov.uk/live/pdf/archives/fis-lei.pdf] under reference SV V.55b a sepia drawing dated 1839, by 'J.B.' [John Buckley] -- 5 in. x 5 in. "'Font in Kings Bromley Church, Staffordshire.' showing an octagonal font. Round the bowl are a series of small shields, and on the stem is carved 'S.M. 1664'". [NB: an earlier font must have existed in this church the origins of which are Norman, but no information on it is available].
