Described succintly in Pevsner (1975 c1974: 156): "Font. Of baluster type." The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a rounded baluster pedestal base with square lower base; the decoration is very stylised, chielfly mouldings and filiage motifs. Wooden cover with finial, probably of the same date as the font. A nineteenth-century illustration of this font is listed in an entry in the William Salt Library, Stafford [www.staffordshire.gov.uk/live/pdf/archives/fis-lei.pdf] lists under reference SV V.21 a sepia drawing of 1841 by 'J.B.' [John Buckler]. The Ingestre church is usually attributed to Wren. The font does match the style of other fonts in Wren's churches.
