There is an entry for this Farlington [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://opendomesday.org/place/SE6167/farlington/] [accessed 21 June 2018], but it mentions neither priest nor church in it. The entry for the parish of Sheriff Hutton in the Victoria County History (York North Riding, vol. 2, 1923) notes about Farlington St Leonard's: "The church is substantially a 12th-century structure, only altered by the addition of buttresses and windows of various dates. It has undergone extensive restoration in modern times [...] The font has an octagonal bowl resting on a circular shaft and is probably of 13th-century date." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SE6147867488] reports an "octagonal font with concave sides on circular column" in it. Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with rounded underbowl raised on an octagonal pedestal; the outer surfaces are plain and may have been re-tooled; the font appears medieval. Flat and plain wooden cover; modern. [NB: we have no information on the font of the original (?) 12th-century church here].
