Baptismal font consisting of a roughly hemispherical basin raised on a quadrangular pedestal base; it appears made of marble; the front of the basin is decorated with a cartouche containg an inscription with the date 1575 and the name of a "Iacobus Busquets", probably a Catalan name; to the left of the cartouche, a standing female female figure holding a child, probably a Madonna and Child; to the right of the cartouche, a simplified scene of the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan: John, the figure on the right, pours water over Christ's head; very simple mouldings decorate the top and bottom of the basin sides, as well as parts of the pedestal base. The font cover is flat and fairly plain, made of wood with a small Latin cross finial. [The font is illustrated in the parish web site at www.villaurbana.net/parrocchia] [We are grateful to Montserrat Estela, of Barcelona, Spain, for bringing this font to our attention)
