The font consists of a roughly hemispherical basin decorated with ribbed pattern all around; at the upper basin side there is an inscription [transcription not available] in Gothic characters; two iron staples from the original cover hardware are still in place in the upper rim; the base is octagonal, narrow and short, decorated with thick mouldings at top and bottom and with a ball motif on each side; the brick plinth appears modern. The Museum label reads: "Pila bautismal, de granito, decorada con gallones bajo arcos y encima leyenda con caracteres góticos, pie en forma de capitel decorado con bolas. Siglo XV. Pertenece a la Iglesia de San Román" [=Baptismal font made of granite decorated with ribbed pattern under arches; on the upper part an inscription in Gothic lettering; capital-shaped base decorated with ball motif. 15th century.
