There is an entry for this Stoke [Prior] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SO5256/stoke-prior/] [accessed 1 October 2014]; it reports six priests in it but mentions no church in it, though there probably was one there. A stoup here is described in the inventory of Herefordshire (1931-1934, vol. III: 188): "Stoup: Loose in nave -- round bowl, octagonal outside, with chamfered under edge, formerly projecting from wall, mediæval." English Heritage [Listing NGR: SO5197656490] (1987) reports two items in this re-built church: 1) "In the nave is a C14 octagonal stone font with moulded underside"; and, 2) "a medieval stoup".
