There are two entries for Winforton [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [https://opendomesday.org/place/SO2947/winforton/] [accessed 29 December 2018] neither of which mentions cleric or church in it. The entry for this parish in the Inventory of the Historical Monuments in Herefordshire (1931-1934, vol. III: 213) notes: "The Chancel was re-built and the North Transept added c. 1300 [...] Font: octagonal bowl with underside splayed to meet cylindrical stem on round steps, probably 13th-century, plain lid, probably 17th-century, pierced for former staples, etc." The entry for this church in Historic England [Listing NGR: SO2987046973] notes: "Parish church. C13 or earlier origins, part rebuilt and extended circa 1300 with further C16 and C17 alterations; restored in 1895. [...] The stone font is probably C13 and has an octagonal bowl and circular stem on two-stepped base."
